- British Cycling was traditionally the administrator of the various sporting strands of cycling. They have broadened their horizons to include things such as leisure and family cycling as well as campaigning.
- Sustrans in partnership with many local authorities co-ordinated the establishment of the National Cycle Network (NCN) and maintains the role as the custodian of the network. They are a national charity whose mission is to make it easier for people to walk and cycle.
- Cycling UK - Rides, routes and campaigning
- Cycling UK - Northumberland and Tyneside - Local group rides and routes
- Watbike - based at Thorneyford Farm, north of Ponteland. Watbike is a charity offering lead rides, transport, repairs, training and recycling
