Get help to stop gambling

Citizen’s Advice provide the following advice, information and support:

• Get help with gambling problems from Citizen's Advice  including:
  • debt advice
  • what to do if you are worried about your partner’s gambling
  • how you can prevent access to gambling by using the ‘self-exclusion’ scheme.   
• They also offer the Gambling Support Service (North East) - Contact them for confidential advice on 0808 278 7902, or email advice@citizensadvicegateshead.org.uk    

The NHS Northern Gambling Service (also known as the Northern Gambling Clinic) provides specialist therapy and recovery to people affected by gambling addiction, as well as those with mental health problems such as:

• depression
• anxiety
• trauma
• suicidal feelings.

They also provide help to people close to those with gambling addiction, such as:

• family
• partners
• carers
