Collection dates, report missed collections, request assistance, order new bins and check service disruptions.

On collection day
Make sure your bin is:
- out, ready for collection by 7am
- filled with the correct items
If your bin is not ready when we arrive, it will be emptied on the next scheduled collection day. This will be 2 weeks later.
Help to put your bin out
If you’re elderly, disabled, or immobile due to illness or injury, and no one over 16 can help, you may qualify for bin collection assistance.

Disrupted collections
Collections may be disrupted by:
- severe weather
- roadworks
- other issues out of our control
We will update you about any disruptions to collections on:
If your collection is disrupted, we will return to collect as soon as possible.
Missed bin collection
You can report if:
- your bin was out by 7am
- check on the Council Alerts page to ensure that, no disruption was advertised
- no bin tag or a leaflet was attached to your bin due to wrong items in your recycling
- once reported, we will collect your bin as soon as possible
Report a missed residential bin collection
Stolen, new, lost or damaged bins
You must pay for a replacement bin if it has been lost, stolen or damaged, unless it has been damaged by the council's vehicles or staff.
If you have moved into a new home without bins, you will need to buy general waste and recycling bins.
If your in is damaged, we offer a free repair service.

Charges for a new or replacement bin
These charges do not apply to garden waste bins. If you're a new garden waste customer, your bin is included in the sign up fee and you keep it for the duration of the time you use the service.

You can buy a second-hand bin from us, but this is subject to a 'first come, first served' basis. Bins you buy from another supplier must meet the council's standards. Telephone: 0345 600 6400 for any enquiries, or to order a new bin.
We aim to deliver your bin within 5 working days of payment.

No space for a bin
If you do not have space for a wheeled bin, then you may be able to use bin sacks.
We will provide 3 sacks per collection free of charge.
