A secure way to go paper-free with your Council Tax, get local news, and job updates.
What you can do
With a My Northumberland Account, you can:
- switch to paperless Council Tax billing and view your past bills
- get local job updates and news straight to your inbox every Friday
More services will be added soon, and we'll notify you by email when they become available, or a new bill is available for you to view.
What you can't do
- our online Planning Portal is not part of My Northumberland Account
- if you move house, or something changes, complete our change of circumstances form
- you still pay your Council Tax as you normally do, this service is just to view bills
Create an account
To set up a My Northumberland Account and view Council Tax bills online, you'll need:
- an email address (to receive verification emails)
- a mobile phone (to receive security codes)
- Council Tax account number (found on your bill or bank statement)
- postcode
Step by step guide
- enter your details (decide if you want jobs and news updates)
- verify your email (click the link in the email we send you)
- create a password (choose a secure password with letters, numbers, and a symbol)
- set up security codes (check your mobile for a text message)
- link your account (to access your Council Tax bills)
Access your account
If you were already signed up to My Account before 12 March 2025, we will send you a step-by-step guide to sign up to the new system which we have recently launched.
If you don’t want to wait, you can sign up yourself, without this.
